I am a specialist assessor and teacher based in Doncaster, dedicated to helping both children and adults overcome the barriers associated with Dyscalculia and numeracy difficulties. My goal is to provide a supportive, one to one environment where we can uncover unique cognitive strengths and create a clear roadmap for success.
With over 20 years of teaching experience and a previous career as a Project and Quality Manager in the IT industry, I bring a rare perspective to my practice. Whether I am working with a primary school student or a professional in a corporate setting, I understand the different pressures each face.
My background in Psychology (BSc) and Computing (MSc) allows me to understand the “brain science” of learning while remaining grounded in the practical requirements of the modern workplace. I am also currently expanding my expertise in Assistive Technology, ensuring I can provide the latest digital tools and “workarounds” to empower my clients in both education and employment.
I hold the highest level of professional recognition in the field, ensuring my reports are recognised by schools, universities, and employers:
Assessment Practising Certificate (APC): The gold standard for formal diagnostic reports.
Level 7 Specialist Assessor: Qualified to the highest postgraduate level.
Level 3 & 5 Dyscalculia Specialist Teacher.
PGCE & PgCert in Mathematics.
I conduct assessments and tutoring in my dedicated garden office. This is designed to move away from clinical, high-pressure environments and instead offer a comfortable, “homely” experience that helps put anxious learners of all ages at ease.
I live in Doncaster with my husband and have two grown sons in their twenties. Outside of work, family and music are my big passions. One of my sons is in a band, and we love supporting them at their shows whenever possible. The whole family are regular gig-goers; some of our recent highlights include seeing Oasis, James, Wolf Alice, Biffy Clyro, and local favourites Reverend and the Makers. When I’m not at a gig, I’m usually being kept busy at home by our two house bunnies, Percy and Penelope.
As a solo practitioner, I am your single point of contact. This allows me to build a genuine understanding of your needs, or your child’s, and provide a consistent, high-quality experience tailored specifically to you. From our first conversation to the delivery of your report, I am here to support you every step of the way.

I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) with a deep specialisation in neurodiversity. My credentials represent a commitment to the highest standards of educational assessment and support.
I hold a Level 7 qualification in Dyscalculia, alongside a PGCE and a PgCert in Maths.
I am AMBDA Dyscalculia certified and hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), authorising me to conduct formal diagnostic assessments.
Every assessment and lesson is tailored to the learner, never one-size-fits-all. As a Level 5 Dyscalculia teacher, I provide evidence-based interventions that go beyond standard tutoring.
Using my background in Psychology and Specialist Dyscalculia training, I don’t just teach a curriculum; I teach the individual. I identify the specific cognitive barriers, such as working memory difficulties, processing speed, or poor number sense and build a custom roadmap to bypass them.
Straightforward feedback and advice so you always know the next steps.
Whether I am conducting a formal diagnostic assessment or providing 1-to-1 specialist teaching, my goal is to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and unlock the potential in every learner I meet.
My goal is to take the stress out of the equation. Together, we can turn maths from a source of daily conflict into a manageable, accessible skill, providing the tools that are needed to navigate a numerical world with confidence.
I know that when anyone struggles with dyscalculia, it affects more than just their maths grades, it impacts their confidence and the atmosphere at home. It’s frustrating to see a bright person feel “stuck” because the standard classroom methods aren’t clicking for them.
My approach is built on the belief that there is no such thing as a “non-maths brain,” only different ways of processing the world. I’m here to bridge that gap. By combining specialist expertise with an individualised, evidence-based plan, I can help students move past the “I can’t do this” mindset.
